About
As a native Floridian, my love for this state fuels my mission: to protect our precious natural resources while balancing the growth needed for resilient, economically viable communities. This challenge is why I became an Urban Planner, a principle that has guided my career. 🌴 My journey began on the ground, managing the statewide AmeriCorps program for the Florida Park Service and supporting large-scale land acquisition with the Florida Communities Trust.
I've dedicated a significant part of my career to Fernandina Beach, growing from Planner II to Director of Planning & Conservation in 2018. I had the privilege of guiding the city's post-recession economic recovery by merging the work of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) with the energy of the Main Street program. We revitalized our downtown by protecting its unique character while empowering private investment, a strategy that resulted in a thriving local economy and national recognition.
But sustainable growth was only half the story. Building on the work of leaders before me, we also championed a landmark conservation initiative. Through creative land use reform and land acquisition, we ultimately preserved an incredible 42% of the city as public open space. 🌳
My approach is authentic placemaking by translating complex regulations into clear steps that empower stakeholders. This is fueled by expertise in the full grant lifecycle: from drafting applications for projects like the Amelia Island Trail and shoreline stabilization, to managing on-the-ground implementation and ensuring compliance, my work turns community goals into funded realities.
Now at OVID Solutions as a Principal Planning & Grants Strategist, I partner with local governments, economic development organizations, and utilities to:
✅ Identify critical infrastructure needs at priority sites
✅ Craft winning grant strategies and align complex funding streams
✅ Turn ambitious, long-range visions into shovel-ready realities
My commitment to building stronger communities extends to my volunteer work, where I serve on the Board of the Northeast Florida Regional Health Council and as the Quality of Life Lead for the Resilient 1st Coast initiative.
Whether you're tackling economic development, infrastructure challenges, or resiliency planning, the goal is the same: to create lasting, sustainable prosperity.
